Riga: Ambassador Ramiz Bašić presented Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Andris Berzins On July 16, Ambassador Ramiz Bašić presented letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Andris Berzins and assumed function of non-resident Ambassador of Montenegro with the seat in Warsaw. After ceremonial part, he talked with the President Berzins about cooperation of two states on bilateral and multilateral plan, current interior occasions as well as about European and Euro Atlantic integration of Montenegro.

Montenegro will advocate strengthening position of Western Balkans as reliable NATO partner

Within the second Montenegrin US-Adriatic Charter (A5) presidency which started officially on July 1 this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro organized working meeting of political directors of the A5 Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The meeting, chaired by Ms. Dragana Radulović Acting Director General in the Directorate General for NATO and Security Policy was attended by representatives of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia at the level of directors of Directorates and the USA Embassy representative in Montenegro.

Budva: Initiative ‘’Western Balkans Six + 1’’ is coming in the right time

Consultative meeting of political directors of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia on the topic of new concept of regional cooperation named “”Western Balkans Six + 1” was held yesterday in Pržno along with participation of chiefs of EU Delegations to Montenegro, Ambassador Mitja Drobnić and Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council Mr. Goran Svilanović. Although Croatia has already acceded to EU, by joining Initiative it accepted to provide its contribution by sharing integration experience with other members, carrying on partner relations with the states of the region. In an observer capacity the meeting was attended by representative of Slovenia. Montenegrin delegation was headed by Secretary of State for political affairs Ambassador Vladimir Radulović.

London: Donors Night within Initiative “Together to Stars”

With the support of the Embassy of Montenegro in London, on July 13 2013, donors night was organized within Initiative ‘’Together to stars’’ whose organizer was UK Montenegro Forum. Charity dinner was attended by huge number of Montenegrin emigrants that once again confirmed preparedness to support realization of initiative for helping those who need help. Collected means are earmarked for the Center for Social Work in Nikšić for the support for orphans.

Statement of the Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić after the meeting with the Minister for European and Euro Atlantic Integration of Georgia Alex Petriashvili

It is a great pleasure to me to be provided with the opportunity to host today the Minister for European and Euro Atlantic Integration in the Government of Georgia Mr. Petriashvili in his first visit to our country and to exchange views, experiences from what are direct portfolios in these terms such as European and Euro Atlantic integration. The both states share priority of further integration when the matter is about these two integration processes and it was very useful opportunity to inform colleague about what we do in Montenegro, about negotiating process which is in progress, new approach which the European Commission has designed for the states of Western Balkans and to exchange to that effect the most recent information about the region. Secondly, to exchange views on our ambitions for NATO membership considering the fact that our experiences from Brussels are very fresh, that we had opportunity to discuss Progress Report – Report on Progress of Montenegro concerning NATO...

New York: Official reception on the occasion of Montenegro’s Statehood Day

On the occasion of July 13, Consulate General in New York organized official reception gathering huge number of representatives of diaspora and associations from New York, as well as from other cities of the USA. The celebration was also attended by members of the society ‘’Montenegro-Canada’’ from Toronto who are always welcomed at receptions and gatherings of Montenegrin diaspora in North America.

Lithuanian EU presidency is to be used for intensification of negotiating process

Secretary of State for European Integration Ambassador Aleksandar Andrija Pejović and Director General for European Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Snezana Radović participated in the meeting of Directors General for EU affairs of candidate and member states. The meeting was organized within Lithuanian EU presidency. During the meeting priorities of European agenda in forthcoming six months, inter-institutional cooperation and other EU significant issues were discussed.

Brussels: Full support of Belgium for Montenegrin aspirations for EU and NATO membership

In the course of visit to Brussels Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Mr. Igor Lukšić had bilateral meeting with the Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Didier Reynders. Vice President of the Government of Belgium positively assessed overall bilateral relations and emphasized that there is space for further improvement of cooperation in different areas of mutual interest, particularly strengthening economic relations. Having paid tribute for progress that Montenegro has realized in integration process Reynders expressed full support of Belgium for Montenegrin aspirations for EU and NATO membership. He emphasized readiness for continuation of expert assistance in adoption and implementation of European standards along with the need for evaluation of individual progress in integration.

The meeting between North Atlantic Council and Montenegro was held yesterday in Brussels. On behalf of NATO the meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow whereas Montenegrin delegation was headed by Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Mr. Igor Lukšić and Minister of Defense Ms. Milica Pejanović-Đurišić.
