Mina - Lukšić believes in consensus on constitutional amendment

Commenting warning from Brussels that constitutional amendments should be completed by autumn, Luksic said that The Government and Parliament had already demonstrated preparedness for achievement of agreement regarding the most important issues. Luksic mentioned that despite differences existing between political parties, he believes in achievement of compromise, estimating that it would send positive message to Brussels and Member States that Montenegro is credible partner.

Within the context of European integration process they positively assessed closure of two chapters, and they emphasised that chapters 23 and 24 represent further challenge for Montenegro. Regional governments officials sign cooperation agreement in Trans-Adriatic and Ionic-Adriatic pipelines projects

Tirana, Albania (24 May 2013) – Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lukšić and high government officials of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Croatia signed the memorandum on cooperation in the implementation of projects concerning the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Ionic-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) in Tirana on Thursday. The Memorandum obliges the contracting parties to provide support for developing, funding and implementing the TAP and IAP projects, preparing internal markets to receive gas from Azerbaijan and the Caspian region, as well as for the interconnection of the IAP with the TAP. The contracting parties pledged full support for the TAP And IAP projects, thus supporting the goal of the European Union related to the diversification of transport routes and safety of gas supply in Europe.

On the occasion of celebration of Montenegro independence day on 21 of May, Foundation Petrovic Njegos and Embassy of Montenegro in Paris organised humanitarian concert in Paris Adyar theatre. The guests were addressed by Ambassador Ms Irena Radovic and Prince Nikola Petrovic. In her speech Ambassador pointed at outstanding cooperation between Embassy and Foundation and she emphasised importance of performance of this concert whose revenues are intended for procurement of equipment for early breast cancer detection in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Montenegro.

The meeting of explanatory analytical overview of the EU acquis for Chapter 31 referring to foreign, security and defense policy was opened by Chief Negotiator and Negotiator for this chapter Ambassador Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic and Adviser to the Directorate for Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey and Island in the Directorate – General for Enlargement Marta Garcia Fidalgo Representatives of the European External Action Service introduced content of this chapter to the members of Montenegrin work group and they provided necessary information and instruction for further harmonisation and application of European legislation.

Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Luksic met yesterday, during his work visit to Vienna Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Mr. Michael Spindelegger. Spindelegger expressed his satisfaction with negotiation process initiation, with assessment that Austria remains devoted partner and friend of Montenegro in continuation of negotiation process. He expressed commitment of the Government of Austria to European perspective of Western Balkans, emphasising that progress of Montenegro gives strong impulse to entire region. “ Demanding parts of the way are expected but it will lead to life quality improvement of your citizens” Vice-chancellor estimated.
