Skoplje: Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić had several meetings During his stay in Skoplje Vice President Lukšić had several meetings with other participants of the meeting of the Partner Commission of the Adriatic Charter. Luksic had separate meeting with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the State Philip Reeker. Having congratulated Montenegro for assuming presiding over Adriatic Charter, Reeker pointed out importance of this forum that represents important mechanism for preparation of aspirant countries for NATO membership. Vice President Luksic emphasized commitment of Montenegro to fulfillment of necessary criteria in order to obtain conditions to receive invitation for membership in Alliance without time limitations.

Vilnius: Lithuania friend of Montenegro

Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Lukšić visited Lithuania where he met Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Antanas Linkevičius and Vice President of the Parliament Vytautas Gapshis. At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius, they mentioned current situation in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration with particular reference to fulfillment of obligations from the European agenda, having in mind that Lithuania will assume EU presiding in July.

Consular Convention between Montenegro and Serbia supported

Committee for international relations and emigrants gave yesterday positive opinion on Consular Convention between Montenegro and Serbia setting up normative and legal framework of bilateral cooperation in that field. Convention that is to be verified by the Parliament, additionally improves mutual relations and consular cooperation and contributes to efficacious and full protection of rights and interests of citizens of Montenegro and Serbia.

Vice President of the Government and Minster of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić met yesterday the Head of the Department for Montenegro and Croatia to the Directorate General of the European Commission for Enlargement Dirk Lange

Lukšić and Lange discussed current moment within negotiation process with focus on constitutional amendment and preparation of action plans for chapters 23 and 24. Interlocutors agreed that renewed dynamism referring to work of Parliament and initiation of investigation into “Recording” affair represent important aspect of commitment regarding obligations from chapters 23 and 24. Lukšić acquainted interlocutor with the status of obligations from integration agenda, he also said that action plans for chapters 23 and 24 are in the final phase. He particularly underlined good communication of negotiating team with representatives of EC during preparation of action plans as well as important role and participation on Montenegrin public during public discussion.

UN expert on freedom of expression to visit Montenegro

United Nations Special Rapporteur Frank La Rue will wit Montenegro from 11 to 17 June 2013, to assess the progress in the realization of the right to freedom of expression in the country. This will be the first visit to Montenegro by an independent expert designated by the UN Human Rights Council.
