Washington: NATO enlargement – unfinished business in the Balkans Thematic dialog “NATO enlargement – unfinished business in the Balkans’’ between congressmen and ambassadors was held on June 19 in Washington. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador of Montenegro to USA Srdjan Darmanović and Congressman and the chief of the USA Congress Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mike Turner. American Congressmen and Ambassadors of the countries of the region and Baltic countries to the USA took part on the first out of four panels that are planned for the following period, whereas chief speaker was USA former Ambassador to NATO and executive director of the McCain Institute for international leadership at the University Arizona, Kurt Volker.

Two day meeting of bilateral analytical overview of the acquis for negotiating chapter 29 referring to customs union finished yesterday in Brussels. The meeting was opened by the chief of working group for this chapter Mitar Bajčeta, and Advisor at Directorate for Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey and Iceland of Directorate General for Enlargement Marta Garcia Fidalgo.

Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Regional Cooperation Damir Grbović participated yesterday in Odessa at the 28th meeting of MFAs of the organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). The meeting was chaired by Ukraine Chief of Diplomacy Leonid Kozhara and was attended by Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Natalia Gherman, Ministers of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenia Edvard Nalbandian as well as other high officials of BSEC member states and associated bodies and international organizations.

Brussels: Montenegro was awarded the prize for ecology, environment protection, preservation of biodiversity and natural resources

On June 19 2013, the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black and Caspian Sea (BSCSIF) awarded Montenegro the prize for ecology, environment protection, preservation of biodiversity and natural resources in 2012. Award presentation ceremony organized by BSCSIF was arranged in the European Parliamet and was attended by officials of EU institutions, diplomatic corps, representatives of media and civil society. Chief of Montenegro’s mission to EU Ambassador Ivan Leković received the award on behalf of Montenegro.

Bilateral analytical overview of the acquis for chapter 32 referring to financial supervision was held yesterday in Brussels. The meeting was opened by Chief Negotiator Ambassador Alexandar Andrija Pejović and Advisor to the Directorate for Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey and Iceland in General Directorate for Enlargement Marta Garcia Fidalgo. The chief of the working group for chapter 32 is Assistant Minister of Finance Ana Krsmanović.
