Tallinn: Ambassador Ramiz Bašić presents letters of credence to President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves

Ambassador Ramiz Bašić presented yesterday, 5 November, letters of credence to President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves and assumed the position of non-resident Ambassador of Montenegro seated in Warsaw. Following the official ceremony, President Ilves invited Ambassador Bašić for a half-hour meeting, where the two officials discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, domestic affairs, and European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro.

Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić met Tuesday in London with UK Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude on the eve of the Summit of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), which is to be held in London on 31 October – 1 November. Montenegro is among the seven shortlisted countries vying for the OGP Bright Spots award.

Second “Montenegro Embassies – Open House” takes place

Embassies in Brussels, Vienna, Moscow, Paris, Ljubljana, Rome, and Budapest hosted the project “Montenegro Embassies – Open House,” where ambassadors met Montenegrin students and members of the Organisation of Montenegrins Studying Abroad (OCSI). The meetings served to share experiences of studying abroad and to establish communication and cooperation. The importance of student internships and traineeships at the embassies was recognised as an opportunity to boost efficiency of diplomatic and consular missions and to ensure professional development for students.
