Press release on the occasion of terrorist attacks in Istanbul

Late last night two terrorist attacks were committed in downtown Istanbul, one in the immediate vicinity to the Besiktas stadium, and the other in the nearby park, leaving 29 people (27 police officers and 2 civilians) killed and over 160 injured.

Brussel: Bilateral meetings of Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Srđan Darmanović on the second day of the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs

During the second day of the ministerial meeting in Brussel, the issues of NATO and Ukraine relations and of the Alliance’s engagement in Afghanistan through the Resolute Support mission were discussed. The commitment of allies to sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine and the cooperation programmes implemented by NATO and member states in order to reinforce defence and security system there were reiterated. Ministers stressed the importance for NATO engagement in Afghanistan to remain in 2017 at the same level as today and reiterated their commitment to the sustainability of Afghani defence and security forces through their financial contribution until 2020.

Brussel: Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Srđan Darmanović attended the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Prof Srđan Darmanović PhD, is attending today and tomorrow the meetings of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, which is the first time for a Montenegrin Foreign Minister to attend such a meeting, following the signature of the Accession Protocol on 19th May 2016.

Ambassador Posa expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and stressed that Hungary would continue to support Montenegro on its European path and in the final stages of its NATO accession. He also stressed Hungary’s willingness to intensify relations with Montenegro in science, education, culture, sports, agriculture and other areas.
