State Secretary Ambassador Zoran Janković participated today in Sarajevo at the yearly meeting of foreign affairs ministers of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), organized in the framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s chairmanship over this regional mechanism.

High officials of SEECP’s member countries, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations participated at the meeting, hosted by the head of diplomacy of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak. The focus of the meeting were developments in Southeast Europe in the context of regional cooperation, with the accent on safeguarding security and stability of the Region through joint approach to security challenges. In addition, they exchanged opinions on possibilities and need of further promotion of economic growth and strengthening overall connectivity among countries of the region, as well as in terms of importance of EU enlargement perspective.

Ambassador Janković stated that SEECP represents a leading political forum of Southeast Europe, which contributed to stability and prosperity of the Region on the path of integration to the European and Euro-Atlantic structures. He underlined the commitment of our state to constructive dialogue and improvement of project-oriented cooperation through numerous regional mechanisms, which will help in creating conditions for individual and joint economic recovery of the Western Balkans and reaching its European perspective. 

Ahead of ministerial meeting was organized a yearly meeting of Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), which gathered over 40 high representatives of member countries and international and regional partners, thus they exchanged views on RCC’s work and current common regional projects, such as Agreement on reducing roaming prices in six Western Balkans’ countries from 1 July this year.

Summit of presidents of SEECP’ countries, where President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović will participate, will be held tomorrow on Jahorina.
