Baku: Upcoming Session of Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation Opportunities for Identifying Specific Projects and Further Strengthening Partnership

Aprat from the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Srdjan Darmanovic, PhD had meetings today with Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh, Foreign Minister Elmar Mamadjarov and Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, it was assessed that the cooperation in the field of economy between Montenegro and Azerbaijan has been confirmed by the strategic partnership, which is proved by the realization of two very important projects - investment in a tourist complex in Kumbor and bringing Azerbaijani natural gas to the Ionian coast and the Adriatic Sea, which will enable the diversification of energy sources for Montenegro and the countries of the region.

Minister Darmanović said that the launched projects confirm the readiness of the two countries to further strengthen, primarily economic cooperation, which has been established by the signing of a series of bilateral agreements. He expressed expectation that the forthcoming visits of the Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković and the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajović will open a new perspective of cooperation in various fields.

Rasizee praised the cooperation of the two countries and expressed satisfaction that one of the biggest investments of Azerbaijan in Montenegro, such as the Portonovi project will further strengthen the ties and partnership of the two countries.

In an open and warm atmosphere with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mamadjarov, the dynamics of the development of launched infrastructure and other projects in the field of energy, as well as the possibilities of future cooperation in the fields of tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, education and science, sport, environmental protection were discussed. In this regard, it is estimated that the upcoming holding of bilateral political consultations will be an opportunity to identify concrete projects of mutual interest.

The interlocutors also discussed the cooperation achieved so far at the multilateral level, as well as the importance of implementing signed bilateral agreements that will contribute to the further development of interstate cooperation.

During the talks with the Minister of Economy, Shahin Mustafayev, it was noted that the forthcoming Session of the Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation will provide an incentive for the implementation of new projects that will strengthen the overall relations.

During his stay in Azerbaijan, Minister Darmanovic visited University "ADA" and spoke with Rector Hafiz Pashaev.
