Minister of Foreign Affairs, professor Srđan Darmanović, PhD, and non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Montenegro Arne Bjornstad signed today a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway on bilateral cooperation on projects.

The signing of the Memorandum establishes an adequate legal framework for strengthening bilateral development cooperation in areas that are defined as priority for Montenegro. First of all, this refers to support for European integration, but also to all other projects that contribute to reform processes and sector development in accordance with EU and NATO standards.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, prof Srdjan Darmanovic, PhD, expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum and thanked the Government of Norway for the overall development support in the period 2004-2016 with the amount of 30 million euros.

Ambassador Bjornstad assessed that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will be even more substantial, now that we are allies within NATO and emphasized that the Norwegian side will continue to contribute to the economic and social development of Montenegro through the financing of development projects, as well as the reform processes on its path to Full membership in the EU.
