Government of Montenegro is fully committed to proper managing of the election process while making significant efforts to hold elections in democratic and fair atmosphere, it was stated on today’s meeting between acting General Director for Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Veljko Milonjic and representatives of the Head Team of ODIHR’s Election Observation Mission (EOM).

Response of Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As the election day in Montenegro is approaching, the interference of the factors interested into our election process is becoming even greater. This time, the Russian Orthodox Church also has its part, citing publicly, through its president for foreign relations, Metropolitan Ilarion, that Montenegrin Ambassador in Moscow has tried to “convince him personally in validity” of our Law on Religious Freedom.
